We closed out the balance of our trade in SEDG on Thursday for a 76.75% gain. We used some discretion in this trade as we normally trail our stops on the balance of the trend following portion of our shares till we are stopped out. The stock gapped and moved higher by 20% after earnings and is now up over 200% on the year. Sometimes as a trader you feel like your being a pig and it was nice to lock in this big winner for our portfolio as the year comes to a close. It is very possible that this stock can set up for us again on a pullback trade so it definitely stays on our radar. We added a new long position in BZQ the Ultra Short Brazilian ETF. The Brazilian market looks like it could be entering a trend transition coming of off two year highs. We are taking a bit of a cautious stance heading into the year as we are sitting on solid gains that are running 8 points ahead of the S&P 500. We do have some names on the radar screen and many of those are in the energy sector so further trades are possible before year end. With that, let take a look at the charts.
CAI- The stock has been consolidating a large post earnings advance with a series of tight closes over the last three weeks. We do have a possible secondary offering hitting the market as well which may be accounting for some of the recent hesitation in the shares. We have booked 14.42% swing trade gains and are up 22.99% on the trend following portion of the trade. Our stop remains in place near $33.47.
PSX- Phillips 66 is a recent position we opened on 11/2. We are long at a price of $93.13. We have a swing trade target on the first half of our shares near $100 and our stop currently sits near $89.93. The stock close Friday at $93.66 leaving us up 0.57% on our shares. This is still a full position.
BZQ- We opened this position on 11/7 at $10.30 and it is a Trend Transition set up. The ETF got a nice pop on Friday and closed the week at $10.35 putting the position slightly in the green for us. Our swing trade target on the first half of our shares is near $11.50 and our stop currently sits near $9.37. This is still a full position.
